Energy Management Systems and Energy Assessments

ISO 50001 is changing the way companies manage energy.  In addition, companies are always looking for ways to reduce energy consumption, because energy savings translate directly to bottom-line improvements.  We help industrial, institutional, and large commercial energy consumers save energy.

Leading Solutions

ISO 50001 Implementation.  RDC helps organizations implement ISO 50001 through an organized, step-by-step process.

Energy Assessments.  RDC can perform walk-through type audits of facilities to identify energy savings opportunities, and also perform an economic analysis of these opportunities.

Distributed Generation Pre-Feasibility Analysis.  RDC has performed a number of projects where an economic analysis of a potential distributed generation opportunity was developed.

Recent Accomplishments

RDC provides technical account managers (TAMS) to coordinate technical assistance to a Better Plants Companies.  RDC helps companies complete energy intensity baselines, provides status of energy projects to date, and develops roadmaps that serve as the pathway toward achieving the Better Plants Pledge of energy intensity reductions.  RDC also provides assistance in obtaining energy savings assessments and coordinates other technical assistance. RDC also provides technical assistance and planning activities to USDOE to help manage the program.

This work ranges from helping develop strategic plans for programs like Motor Challenge and Superior Energy Performance, to providing detailed technical and market studies, to developing case studies of successful energy efficiency projects, to developing technical publications such as the AMO’s industrial technology Sourcebook series.  RDC has worked both with program managers and DOE headquarters and with program managers at National Labs, providing technical supports services to a variety of programs across many of activities of AMO.  RDC also provides technical support for tool development, training, technical coordination of activity with stakeholders, and standards development.

One RDC staff member recently achieved both the Certified Practitioner in Energy Management Systems – Industrial and SEP Performance Verifier credentials from the Institute for Energy Management Professionals.
